DTI provides engineering, deployment and project management services for VoIP in COs, labs and the HFC inside and outside plant.
DTI project manages one of the largest VoIP deployments in the US. This deployment includes a dozen+ softswitches and dozens of gateways from multiple vendors. The work involves several tens of facilities spread over 10+ states. With an initial capacity exceeding a million subscriber lines, the project team includes more than 75 engineers from five internal engineering groups, and several dozen engineers from tens of vendors. Adding to the project’s complexity, it dovetails with upgrades of next-gen CMTSs and routers, and because it involves acquired cable systems using diverse equipment, extensive interoperability is required.
In addition, DTI has performed lab certification testing and field deployments for several vendors’ softwitches and gateways.
Validation and engineering for VoIP readiness has been a DTI specialty since the beginning of cable voice. We’ve optimized HFC plants in several major metro markets including San Francisco, Chicago, Boston and NYC as part of deployments of softswitches and upgrades of CMTSs, and provided the expertise needed to assure voice quality and HSD performance for millions of subscribers.
