DTI Selected to Prepare Major MSO's Infrastructure for New Set-Top Box Capabilities based on ADSG

Londonderry, NH, July 18, 2008 — DTI has been selected by a major cable services provider to engineer and assure the readiness of their infrastructure for ADSG, the new Set-Top technology that will enable long-envisioned but previously unfeasible applications such as voicemail, video-telephony, multimedia email, e-commerce, social networking, and online gaming via the TV. DTI’s role will include the design and implementation of multicast protocols throughout the routers and switches of the MSO’s High Speed Data network, and the resolution of challenges arising from the necessary coexistence of new ADSG-based, and legacy, Set-Top Boxes. ADSG (Advanced DOCSIS Set-Top Gateway) is a new specification from CableLabs developed to enable new and innovative services to be delivered via Set-Top Box as an integral part of television enjoyment. In helping to pioneer some of the first implementations of ADSG, DTI, besides providing IP multicast expertise, is identifying and solving headend RF and CMTS capacity upgrade challenges that had not been widely anticipated. The wide scope of DTI’s contributions in this engagement underscores DTI’s solutions orientation and focus on providing the full range of expertise needed for end-to-end success.
